Join us for our first London event, where we reflect on the cultural Muslim renaissance in London, embracing differences, reclaiming identity, and amplifying cultural impact.
On Thursday, May 18th from 7-10 pm, Hayat Life, a digital magazine celebrating the achievements of cultural Muslims in the West, will launch its first London event at The Art House by Acrilicize. This inaugural event is curated to reflect on the cultural Muslim renaissance in London, embracing differences, reclaiming identity, and amplifying cultural impact.
Beginning at 7, the event is curated to showcase culturally Muslim individuals on the London Scene with a variety of backgrounds and experiences, asking what it means to be culturally Muslim and how it impacts their lives, communities, and art. Musical performances by Raff Poole, Kareem Samara, and SEKH are joined by the panelists Omar Hamaoui, Sarra Wild, and Salwa Rahman.
“We look forward to the opportunity to bring together a diverse community of London cultural Muslims,” says Editor-in-Chief Fira Gasimova. “Hayat is about a life lived with purpose and passion—we are excited to witness how cultural Muslims are making it happen in London today.”
“The Hayat Life London Launch is the beginning of an exciting series of events, bringing together people as varied as they are similar in a mosaic of cultural Muslim life,” Gasimova says.
Hayat Life is a non-profit digital magazine celebrating the achievements of cultural Muslims in the West. It was founded by a group of students and graduates of Boston University to highlight an under-recognized group of contributors to Western society, a diverse group tied together by a shared cultural heritage.
