“…when we moved to L.A. we had to cancel our cable and we had no T.V., and we were just watching a lot of Netflix Instant Watch all the time,” Resella told New Media Rockstars. “We started our channel 2 Broke Geeks in terms of it was just going to be for Netflix Instant Watch reviews and then maybe add stuff later.”

The early success of 2 Broke Geeks earned them a feature on Geek & Sundry Vlogs in 2013.

While Resella went on to pursue screenwriting, Najam took on projects in creating and hosting shows, films, and podcasts.

Omar Najam in A Court of Fey and Flowers

The newest season of Dimension 20: A Court of Fey and Flowers. The regency-inspired fairy-themed game show uses systems from Dungeons & Dragons (5th Edition) and the Jane Austen-inspired RPG Good Society.

“I have always been interested in the art of games like Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder because it’s just this intense fantasy where you’re like ‘Oh yeah! Let’s 100% just all jump at a dragon,’” Najam said on the Let’s Learn About… podcast.

Najam plays Andhera (He / They), an asexual prince with a British accent. Najam is asexual himself and explores that character aspect in depth in the show.

“I wanted to have fun and was like, ‘What would a regency prince character want to appear as? I think they would want to appear as Chris Hemsworth,’” Najam said about creating Andhera. “And it was just like dropping that register, boxing up the shoulders, and from that it kind of built out. In playing the character, I started to be like, ‘this is a for sure ace character.”

“[Omar and I] were in a campaign together called Banesbreak, and that’s where we first met. Literally Session One of that game, I realized Omar is incredible, and I knew I was going to drag him to Dimension 20 as soon as I could,” Game Master Aabria Lyengar told CBR.

The 10-episode season premiered August 3, 2022 and is available to watch on Dropout TV. New episodes air on Wednesdays.

Iyengar also leads campaigns on the Critical Role podcast. Omar Fadel composes.
