Zayn Siddique is a political advisor and Yale-educated lawyer. In January 2021, President-elect Biden appointed Siddique as Senior Aide to the White House Deputy Chief of Staff.
Siddique is the first Bangladeshi-American Biden appointed to a senior position within his administration.
Zayn Siddique was on the Biden-Harris transition team
Before Biden appointed him as Senior Aide, Siddique worked with the Biden-Harris transition team. He was chief of staff for the Domestic and Economic section of the team. Siddique also worked with Harris’ prep team for the 2020 Vice-Presidential Debate.
Siddique worked with Beto O’Rourke’s presidential campaign as deputy policy director. He was also a senior policy advisor to O’Rourke’s senate campaign.
Prior to assisting with presidential campaigns, Siddique served as a law clerk. He served under US Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan. Siddique also worked for Judge for the D.C. Circuit of the US Court of Appeals David Tatel. The Senior Aide also served the Central District of California US District Court Judge Dean Pregerson.
Siddique practiced law with Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP as an associate in between his clerkships.
Zayn Siddique’s Bangladeshi background
Siddique’s parents are both doctors from a village in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. They immigrated to the US with Siddique’s grandmother. He grew up an only child in New York.
The Senior Aide holds his undergrad degree from Princeton University’s Program in Law and Public Affairs. He also graduated from Yale Law School.
Zayn Siddique as White House Senior Advisor
Siddique is the Senior Aide to White House Deputy Chief of Staff. The Deputy Chief of Staff position, filled by Bruce Reed and Jen O’Malley Dillon, is the top advisor to Chief of Staff. The White House Chief of Staff, Ron Klain, acts as senior advisor to the President.
