Zahra Sandberg launched Love Zahra as a creative outlet for beauty, home décor, fashion, and lifestyle in 2012. Now, several years later, the creative consultant and lifestyle blogger posts on everything from fitness and travel to marriage and spirituality. She shares her latest explorations in clean beauty, slow fashion, and motherhood on PinterestYouTube, and Instagram.

Sandberg is Pakistani, Pennsylvania-born, and California-raised. “I’m really proud of my Pakistani heritage and always try to incorporate my culture in life and style decisions,” she writes on her site.

For all this and more, Sanberg has earned features on various fashion sites including Yahoo! Lifestyle, Marie Claire, and Elle Arabia.

Zahra Sandberg discusses creating the life you want

Sandberg also hosts her very own podcast, “Conscious-ish,” which she started in 2020. There, she discusses topics including motherhood, politics, and spirituality. For example, in the latest episode “Defining your vision…and your religion???,” she talks faith and personal development with Dr. Carrie Kholi Murchison.

“If you’re in a place where you’re looking to change your career, or you’re looking to find more meaning and more purpose in your life, listen to this episode,” Sandberg says in her introduction.

Sandberg created Love Zahra while working in Business Development for Sterling Engineering. She earned her Bachelor’s in History and Religious Studies from University of Albany, SUNY. Then, in 2016, she left her decade-long corporate career to focus on being a full-time influencer and mom.

Zahra Sandberg speaks openly about her Family and Faith

For Sandberg, defining her vision and religion includes more than leaving corporate life to take on motherhood and “Love Zahra”. She uses her voice to share her struggles in falling in love with and marrying a non-muslim. Despite her own husband converting to Islam, Sandberg also advocates for interfaith marriage.

“At the time I had also believed the mainstream idea that my husband had to be Muslim, which is something I no longer believe,” she says. “For years I’ve been getting messages from Muslim women who are looking to marry outside of their faith. I’ve happily given my advice, telling them to follow their hearts and their gut instincts while also respecting their families.”

Sandberg creates content inspired by family life and motherhood. Check out her daughter’s room redesign, or her styles for ‘moms on the go’.

An advocate for natural beauty products, Sandberg reviews brands like Urban Decay and Love Beauty and Planet. She also uses her platform to support businesses owned by women and people of color. For example, she collaborates with Brown Girl Magazine to promote female and South Asian-owned Vasanti Cosmetics with her husband.

In addition, Sandberg promotes “slow fashion” by sharing her tips on how to be a conscious consumer while remaining fashionable. For example, she encourages her followers to “shop their own closet,” buy second-hand, and from ethical brands.

“After years of knowing what the true cost of fast fashion meant in terms of its negative effect on both the people working in horrible factory conditions around the world, as well as the carbon footprint on the Earth, I could no longer deny my internal conflict about shopping fast fashion,” Zahra says.
