The eponymous Iman Hasan Creative is an all-female creative consultancy firm that helps connect the right audiences and consumers to the brands they work with, bringing new market buzz and fresh ideas.
The entrepreneur and fashionista kickstarted her company just as the coronavirus gained traction. Nevertheless, she has remained motivated to grow her company, even in such uncertain times.
“It truly takes a village,” Hasan says about her goal of uplifting other women and women of color-run businesses.
Iman Hasan built an impressive career before founding her company
Hasan’s resume boasts many impressive achievements, even before she started her own firm. De La Heart writes that at only 19, Hasan already had an internship at Tatler Magazine in London. From there she went on to work for Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, and Bloomingdales, just to name a few of the largest fashion publications she has worked with.
In addition to fashion, Hasan is a public relations whiz with extensive experience in this field as well. She was the Head of Influencer Marketing, Digital Strategy and Social Media at 5th Column PR, as well as contributing fashion editor for the widely circulated Emirates Woman.
Now, she focuses her attention on Iman Hasan Creative. This all-female firm harnesses the power of social media to help customers to grow their brands. The company got off the ground shortly before the pandemic. But unlike many small and medium enterprises has managed to stay afloat.
“We started small, and our mission statement was simple: quality over quantity of clients,” says Hasan. Some of the services provided by IHC include “buzz-worthy content, elevated digital and PR campaigns, successful experiential pop-ups and one-of-a-kind events in Miami and NYC.”
Beauty and fashion: more than a profession, a lifestyle
Fashion and self-care first hooked Hasan at a very young age. She credits her mother for her “first beauty memories,” getting blowdrys at 11 and manicures at 13. “My mother always said a woman should always be groomed and put together,” Hasan recalls.
Initially, Hasan pursued a career in Law. But soon, she switched gears and changed her major to Philosophy instead. In college, she started working at fashion PR firms, including Brower Lewis and Browns House.
Although Hasan typically keeps her private life private, she does occasionally share glimpses on her Instagram. This past August, Hasan posted about her marriage. With the ongoing pandemic, she has had to put her upcoming wedding off – physically, at least. Nevertheless, the quarantine has allowed her and her partner to get even closer.
“As of now, even though we have decided not to have a physical wedding, we are still having a marriage, to celebrate our union,” she posted.
Iman Hasan Creative mixes business with social conscientiousness
“I am a Pakistani-Muslim woman, and although I was lucky enough to obtain growth opportunities, I know my path would have been made easier with the help and guidance of seasoned professionals,” Hasan says. “Now that I am here, I was to be that guidance for those who need it.”
Thanks to this mindset, Hasan recently launched We Are Renn, an incubator for women of color. “There is power in bringing in women that share the same passion and dedication and collaborating with people who believe in the same dream,” she notes.
In addition to this incubator project, IHC also represents high scale clients such as The Lennox Hotel, the MILA Restaurant Group, Paraiso Miami, and Brazilian brand Iorane. Hasan built her PR approach upon her previous experience, and the idea that “networking is king.” The company prides itself on “maintaining close relationships with top local and national media outlets, elevating brand press releases and ensuring that our stories resonate with a global audience across both print and digital platforms.”
