Celebrity supercouple Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have welcomed a new member into their family: a daughter. Malik confirmed that the baby had arrived in a Twitter post on September 23rd, 2020.
The two have been in an off-again-on-again relationship since 2015, going steady since the last holiday season.
Hadid confirmed circulating rumors of a pregnancy in an interview with Jimmy Fallon in April. However, she also mentioned that she would have preferred to make the announcement on her own terms, alongside pop star and singer of One Direction fame Malik. Hadid has been teasing the fanbase with photoshoots of her baby bump since August.

Coming from a powerhouse family, Gigi Hadid is one of the largest names in modern modeling. Born Jelena Noura Hadid, she is the daughter of Palestinian-born real estate developer Mohamed Hadid and Dutch model Yolanda Hadid. Her sister, Bella Hadid, has also had a successful modeling career.
Hadid began modelling at only two years old, first for Guess, and then more extensively as an adult. Hadid has made 35 international Vogue covers, as well as Allure, W Magazine, Elle Canada, and Harper’s Bazaar to name a few. She has also participated in protests against President Trump’s “Muslim ban” in 2017, and has spoken out about Hashimoto’s Disease, which she suffers from.
Zayn Malik also became famous while still a minor. He first became a household name at only 17 years old after his X-Factor audition in 2010 and the formation of One Direction.
Although he goes by the mononym Zayn, he was born Zain Javadd Malik to a British Pakistani father and English/Irish mother. After five years with One Direction, which had the highest-grossing tour of 2014, Malik stated that he wanted to live as “a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.”
However, Zayn did not stop making music. He has since released multiple singles and albums, as well as various fashion pieces with Versace and Giuseppe Zanotti. He is also a philanthropist as an ambassador of the British Asian Trust group and participates in various campaigns benefitting his native Bradford, England, and other global locations.
A consistent love through an on-again, off-again relationship
Zayn and Hadid have had on-again-off-again relationship since 2015. Elle magazine reported their last reuinion this past January.
“She has always loved him and the break between the two was needed,” they report a source saying. “Zayn has been working on his past music and focusing on his health and is in a really good place currently.” They first paired up from 2015 to 2018, then from later in 2018 to January of 2019. After about a year they are together once again.

The couple met at a Victoria’s Secret party. Zayn soon took Hadid out on a date.
“She’s a very intelligent woman. She knows how to carry herself. She’s quite classy and all that,” he tells the Evening Standard. He also mentions that they have met each other’s families and that he likes her singing voice.
“For the first time, we are both in a relationship where we have very similar interests outside of work and that is really important,” Hadid says about their relationship. “We cook a lot together and do art together and we’re each other’s best friends. We both feel we can talk about anything and learn a lot from one another.”

Hadid revealed her pregnancy on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on April 30th. However, as The Stylist reports, the couple didn’t exactly get to announce on their own terms, since many tabloids reported on their pregnancy more than a week before the announcement. Despite that, “it’s a nice silver lining to be able to be home and be together and really experience it day by day,” Hadid says.
The new parents have yet to announce their new daughter’s name, but have expressed their joy over the new member of the family:
