Laila Lalami has been named one of Hayat’s Ramadan Top 30 Illuminators for her contributions to literature in both fiction and non-fiction.

The prolific writer’s novel was named a National Book Award Finalist and a Kirkus Prize Finalist. Her first non-fiction book Conditional Citizens has just been published.
